Hands down, one of the most exciting elements of kitchenCRATE is selecting the granite.
Why do you ask?
There’s nothing better than the look on a customer’s face when they find the “just right” slabs of granite. Not samples, mind you. No, these are actual, full-size pieces of rock, shipped from around the world, stacked in nice little rows right in front of you. (They’re even numbered and labeled according to which individual rock they came from, ensuring customers get matching color patterns in the stone).
And where does this kitchenCRATE magic happen? Why, at MSI International in Hayward, CA.
At MSI, the expert staff, along with your kitchenCRATE project manager, guide you through the granite selection process, beginning with the 12 kitchenCRATE colors and then branching out as needed to look at some of the more exotic (and yes, more expensive) granite options.

The MSI showroom has dozens of tile backsplash sample walls, like this one. With kitchenCRATE, you can select your custom tile or granite backsplash at MSI or elsewhere.
MSI is constantly upgrading their showroom. Here you can see flooring installers adding a new section of flooring samples.
As you can see in the top-most photo of this post, MSI has row upon row of actual granite slabs to choose from. Here is the perspective as you walk through one of the isles.
Here is one of the hundreds of slabs to choose from. Notice the label on the left side of each slab: these tell you which exact stone the slab came from and in what country.
This slab crane, painted yellow above, is used to move slabs around. This allows customers to quickly see 6-12 slabs at a time while just standing in front of them!

Once a kitchenCRATE customer selects their perfect slabs (usually 2-4 slabs for one kitchen) the slabs are loaded and sent to Modesto for storage and fabrication.
