Bathroom Renovation in Escalon, CA.

This bathroom needed to have better functionality. The problem: this hallway bathroom did not have a shower head, making it a not-so-friendly bathroom for guests who need to bath quickly. The solution: these homeowners replaced the tub with a new tub and added a new faucet and shower head. The vanity also went through a drastic makeover as it was painted a soothing teal color with distressed markings. The new countertop on vanity, paired with the new mirrors and lighting, really transformed the vanity area and gave it a whole new look and feel, giving these homeowners a cute seaside charm feel without having to travel to the coast.

But don’t just take our word on how well this bathroom renovation in Escalon turned out.  Look below for the project specifications and extensive before and after pictures!

Bathroom Renovation Timeline

(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner requested add-ons.)

Day 1 – Demo Day!  On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust, protected the path from the entry door to the bathroom with building paper, and then went to town removing the countertops, backsplash, bath tile, and the bathtub.

Day 2 –  The electrical team began the wiring for the new lighting, the new Kohler Expanse Curved Alcove bathtub was installed along with new shower head valves.

Days 3 & 4 – The bathCRATE team was back on site to patch and repair the sheetrock. The painters began to prepare and prime the vanity cabinets.  Using a high-grade, oil-based primer, every inch of the bathroom vanity cabinets were caulked, sanded and primed.  This is the first (and perhaps most critical) step of creating a durable paint finish. The painters then painted and distressed two coats of Kelly-Moore Dura-poxy paint in Dream Catcher to the thoroughly sanded and primed vanity cabinets.  This same priming and painting process was used on the doors and drawers, which are painted off-site in a climate-controlled paint booth for the highest possible quality.

Days 5 & 6 – The tile artisans were back on site to install tile at the bathtub/shower. Bedrosians Tan Simply Modern 12″ x 24″ porcelain tiles, with Bedrosians Minuet Interlude mosaic tiles were installed on the shower walls. The shower tile was grouted using Bostick Mobe Pearl.

Day 7 – The countertop installation team arrived to install the Kohler Ladena undermount sink and the MSI Montclair White quartz countertop with a small radius edge. Bedrosians Minuet Interlude mosaic tile was used for the backsplash.

Day 8 – All of the walls and ceiling in the bathroom were touched up to match the customer’s existing paint.

Day 9 – The light and plumbing fixtures were installed.  Pfister Pasadena faucets at the sink and a Pfister Saxton in the shower, both with tuscan bronze finishes.

Day 10 – The transformation hit the homestretch with the installation of the freshly painted cabinet doors and drawers. The mirrors and accessories were installed and the bathroom was cleaned of all construction debris and dust.
