Modern bathroom remodel.

Our bathCRATE product surely worked its magic on this bathroom. We kept the exact same vanity and door and drawer faces and refinished them with Kelly Moore paint. With some new hardware, sinks, faucets, and a countertop, it’s hard to believe the transformation when looking at the before photos. Personally, our favorite part of this modern bathroom remodel is the new shower stall. The warm tones of the tile with the simple pattern of the large rectangular tile against the small hexagon tile for the floor and niche paired with the oil rubbed bronze frame really came together nicely.

But don’t just take our word on how well this job turned out.  Look below for the project specifications and extensive before and after pictures!

Bathroom Remodel Day to Day Progress Breakdown

(Note: We added a few extra days to our normal 7-day process to accommodate the owner requested add-ons.)

Day 1 – Demo Day!  On this first day, we set up plastic walls to protect the home from dust, protected the path from the entry door to the bathroom with building paper, and then went to town removing the countertops, backsplash, shower and bath tile, the bathtub and the flooring.

Day 2 –  The electrical team began the wiring for the new lighting and the new shower head valves were installed.

Days 3 & 4 – The bathCRATE team was back on site to patch and repair the sheetrock, set the new tub and install the shower pan liner.

Day 5 – The painters began to prepare and prime the vanity cabinets.  Using a high-grade, oil-based primer, every inch of the bathroom vanity cabinets were caulked, sanded and primed.  This is the first (and perhaps most critical) step of creating a durable paint finish. The painters then applied two coats of Kelly-Moore Dura-poxy paint in Parisian Cashmere to the thoroughly sanded and primed vanity cabinets.  This same priming and painting process was used on the doors and drawers, which are painted off-site in a climate-controlled paint booth for the highest possible quality.

Days 6, 7 & 8 – The tile artisans were back on site to install tile at the shower. Bedrosians Stone Mountain 12″ x 24″ Alabaster porcelain tiles, Bedrosians Stone Mountain Alabaster mosaic tiles were installed on the shower floor. The shower tile was grouted using Laticrete Marble Beige, and Laticrete Natural Grey was used to grout the shower floor.

Days 9 & 10 – The flooring team was also on site to install the new flooring.  Bedrosians Studio 12″ x 24″ Dark Space porcelain tile was installed throughout the bathroom.

Day 11 – The countertop installation team arrived to install the Kohler Ladena undermount sink and the Venetian Marble Cafe Emperado countertop with a mitered edge.  The same marble countertop was used to create a 4″  backsplash.

Day 12 – All of the walls and ceiling in the bathroom were painted using the highest quality Kelly-Moore paints. The walls were painted Kelly-Moore On The Avenue in Satin Enamel, and the ceiling was painted Kelly-Moore Swiss Coffee in Satin Enamel.

Day 13 – The light and plumbing fixtures were installed.  A Pfister Avalo faucet at the sink and a Pfister Avalon in the shower, both with tuscan bronze finishes.

Day 14– The transformation hit the homestretch with the installation of the freshly painted cabinet doors and drawers. The mirrors, accessories and new frameless shower door were installed and the bathroom was cleaned of all construction debris and dust.
